Standing Committees of the Parish Council

The Council Chairman (Ian Fitt) and Vice-Chairman (Cheryl Doy) are ex officio members of all committees

Spixworth Parish Council has standing committees covering Amenities, Highways, and Planning. Current personnel are:

Amenities Committee
Lindsey Cullum, Dee Holdroyd, Peter Ward
The Amenities Committee meets whenever there is relevant business to discuss.

Highways Committee
Vince Barrell, David Potter, Jack Sadler, Bob Manning
The Highways Committee meets whenever there is relevant business to discuss.

Planning Committee
Lindsey Cullum, Dee Holdroyd, Bob Manning, Peter Mills, Chris Thompson, Andrew Watson
The Planning Consultative Committee usually meets just before the monthly full Council meeting. Its purpose is to consider local support and objections to planning applications, and to recommend to the full council the appropriate response to the Planning Authority.

Village Hall Trustees Committee
Lindsey Cullum, Dee Holdroyd, Peter Mills, David Potter, Jack Sadler
The Trustees Committee meets to oversee the transition to the Parish Councils' role as sole managing trustee of Spixworth Village Hall

In addition, the Finance & General Purposes Committee meets quarterly to consider matters such as budget control, Standing Orders and policies.

Public Participation
Members of the public wishing to bring amenties, highways and planning matters before the appropriate committee should contact the Clerk. All committee meetings are open to the Press and Public, subject to the usual exemptions when needed.
